Ambivalence

My heart fills with a bloody devotion
Affirmation of only you suffocate me like a serpent I require reality like I do air Drowning in a pool of my own stupidity The very presence of your being Sends my sanity out a sharp-edged window And hurls me into an entranced state Like a goldfish heaved out of water Desire is the color of my soul Torture and Harmony conspire Sending me two miles closed to insanity Yet the clouds do part before my destination Light explodes and a new hope is born For you see Just one smile could change everything |
